Introducing Streamlined Shipping and Task Management
At Museum Exchange, our mission has always been simple: to make donating art easy and accessible for everyone by building modern infrastructure for philanthropic giving. To better understand how to support that mission, we recently surveyed our institutional users about their donation experiences—what causes friction, what works well, and where we should focus next. The results were clear:
Shipping Coordination was far and away the biggest pain point
Donation Management was the most useful aspect of the platform
In response, our product team has been hard at work on a suite of powerful new features that allow users to do even more on the platform, from booking and tracking shipping to managing tasks and servicing existing donor-institution relationships. Below is a closer look at these updates and how they can help simplify and streamline your donation activity.
What’s New
Shipping Integration
We’ve brought Arta’s industry-leading shipping technology onto Museum Exchange so institutions can now arrange shipping directly on the platform. Users can choose from a range of shipping options—from common carriers to fine art shuttles—and services, generate quotes on demand, complete payment, and track progress through delivery. No more emailing back-and-forth to source quotes and book jobs. We now do all of that, instantly! For the cases where an institution prefers to use their own shipping providers, they still have the option to book the shipment directly with them and coordinate pick up with the donor through the platform (as before).

Source instant quotes from a range of shipping providers including common carriers and specialized art shuttles
Request custom quotes for oversized works, specialized handling, or multiple locations

My Tasks Dashboard
We’ve made it easier to keep track of what donations need attention through a new centralized My Tasks dashboard. Users can now view all outstanding tasks across donations in one place and complete them with a single click. We’ve also enhanced our email notifications with direct links to the appropriate step in the donation process—so you can jump straight to what needs to be done, without having to log in and navigate manually to the right page.

Single Workflow
Having fielded many requests from our institutional and donor users, we’re very excited to open our donation processing workflow to all donations, not just those matched through Museum Exchange. Institutions can now invite their existing donors to offer works to their institution directly through the platform and subsequently process those gifts using our full set of tools.
