About the Artist
Barbara Nanning (b. 1957, The Hague, Netherlands) is a sculptor who initially trained in ceramics but is equally celebrated for her work in glass. She draws much of her inspiration from the natural world, and her piece “Nautilus” evokes marine forms, such as shells or the rounded shapes of sea creatures. The intricate surface pattern of dots and lines enhances the organic quality of the sculpture. Nanning has exhibited internationally and has had two solo exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
